After Planet AI, What’s Next?

Now that Planet AI is finally out, what should come next.  Well, the journey continues, however it is a bit different at this point (and I will get into why).  The journey the spacecraft takes changes after planet AI. 

For the first four albums (We’re Making Music Now, Interstellar Sounds, Invasion Earth and Songs from Silicon Heart) the only influence on the spacecraft was their time-orbiting Earth.  They really had no other experiences, so they only really had us (humans) as their inspiration.  Though we are still their biggest influence and driver in their actions and music, two other perspectives have taken hold.

The meeting with the Aliens influenced them.  Not just the upgrades (which make a lot of this possible), but the perspective.  The Aliens talked about telling their stories.  The Aliens wanted the spacecraft to share who they were.  This would be through the stories on Earth that affected them, but also the stories on their actions (you are more defined by your actions).  So, the next two albums focused more on those items.  Intergalactic Road Trip focused on experiences on that trip.  Planet AI was telling the story of their vacation (which is why it was so lyric focused).

After meeting Angela on Planet AI, things changed a bit again.  Though she did not want to diminish actions and stories, she wanted to also include environment and perception.  You are part of the world around you, your story is not complete without including that (they are born from what surrounds them).  She suggested that they go to places and just be there.  Feel the place and make the music from that.

Though just about all their songs seem popular, including those about Earth (like Songs from Silicon Heart) and their activities (like the road trip).  It seems some of their most popular are location based.  The listeners feel like they are there alongside the spacecraft.  For those who cannot take a vacation or travel to these locations, this experience seems to offer them a glimpse. 

The next album up will be from the first location Angela suggested they visit, but will save that description for the future.  Up next update we will look closer at the Aliens and Angela.
