An Interesting Twist

So, it seems we are making a bit of a change, and that should only help get the next album out sooner (albeit a different next album). As I have stated we have worked through the process. In fact for the first song on the next track we have worked through the chords (if you could call it that (more like a full tone etc), rhythm and even the melody. Seems like we would be done then. Issue is that we have not finalized the sounds (think of it as synths).
Issue we have is this album is about a place. Though different areas of this place invoke different feelings and emotions, it is still one place (from a top level). So, there should be some sort of feature carried through all the songs. Whether it be a melody that we revisit often, maybe the drum sound or what we thought of was using a similar strain of sounds (call it a synth engine). Though we would modify it for each song, there would be a bit of a carry through.
For one song, it is easy enough to pick the sounds. For an album of songs this is more complicated. Sounds we like in some area do not work in others. Maybe the concept of a central type sound is just wrong (in which case the first song is largely done). Maybe we should do something else (like bring in a reoccurring melody etc).
So, while the debate rages on, life also goes on. I became a Grandpa this year (hold the jokes, the spacecraft hit me with enough of them). Now is an opportunity to put some songs on his noise machine. In order to help me out, I asked the spacecraft about holding the current album while the debate raged on and maybe put out a few lullaby type songs.
There was good agreement on this (and they already have some ideas). The advantage here is we could use nursery rhymes from different areas and just avoid the debate about some sound or theme running through the album (yes all will be nursery rhymes, but trust me from what I am hearing from them, the sounds will be very different as this concept of relaxation is different among different species).
At least this gets us going again.
