Breaking News Song Finished

So, I am breaking in again, but not to comment on DarkStar’s rather lengthy update, but just for an update. We have finished the next song (so now we are 3 songs into the album, and they seem to be going faster). This song was a bit tougher than it should have been (from what is going on in it). We had a bit of back and forth on the musicalness of the song.

Initially there was not a lot of music to it, mostly some chords for feeling and the words. That left some of us feeling negative about this song (especially as it would not be the only song of this type on the album). However, after some discussion we were able to identify a few other musical items that I think help a lot (still a bit of a rough one, but I get it). It is still not a musical masterpiece, but I think the additions do actually add to the story.

Next one may be rougher, but I am sort of okay with that (sometimes story pushes style). However, after that, we start coming back into better music for the 2 songs following. I do need to figure out a new voice for one of those 2 (and this will be a tough one to get on the VT-4).

So, getting this done this year is looking tough, but not impossible. I would think it really will be early 2024 (we do not want to give up on our momentum).
