Delayed, Songs Sound Like Music

So, we are not making good progress, but this time I am not complaining.  Even though the actual creation of music is slowed, the process is moving forward, and there is some good learning going on.  This has led to some discussion, some experimentation, some understanding and some things to try as we move forward.

The problem came down to we were well into the first song.  The goal of the song was to simulate the feelings and emotions they felt when they had the experience.  I made the comment I am just not getting it.  So we went through the full song making process and identified two key differences and that need to be reviewed better.

The first is the Though if you heard one of their Earth versions of a song, and a space version, you would notice differences.  You would know they were the same song, but different versions (I almost consider the Earth version to be the acoustic version of their songs).  There are some subtle differences (most of our songs are positive, meaning positive synths, with a lot of major chords, but a major chord is sometimes a little different in space, as well as what is considered a positive sound).  Though for the most part they are similar. 

After some review, the satellites agreed they got too aggressive on making changes for Earth version in this first song.  This is the first song that they are translating for Earth, in the past they were written for Earth and translated for space (and they feel they got overly aggressive). 

The second issue is harder to fix.  The spacecrafts performances are all embellished with a bit of psychic energy.  This helps people who do not understand the actual words feel the music and be part of it.  This would not work as well on Earth as we are not accustomed to this.  Note, this also tracks with copies of the songs. 

As discussed, way back, everything has a consciousness, no matter how simple that is (like the spacecraft being aware before they were animated).  This simple consciousness can be polarized with the thoughts from the song.  In space, when the pieces are played, this polarized consciousness also comes through. 

So we are redoing song one, holding back on too much “Earthinization” to keep the original out in space feel.  We are discussing whether some words would be useful as well (since we cannot get the extra boost from the psychic portion).  This could be lyrics for the spacecraft, or some spoken word narration, or some other words originating from the setting or something else.  If we do add words though, they will be very light.
