Different Voices mean Different Issues

So this is not going smoothly. I worked with each spacecraft for over a week to pick out a voice that they wanted (I will do a separate post going over what they wanted in a voice). After getting the voice that each of them sorta wanted, I recorded a simple row row row your boat using the 3 voices. I think Darkstar said it best - "Those voices go together about as well as mustard on ice cream, and I have never had either, but know how bad that just sounds.". So we are making some more tweaks (to give them each what was important to them, but get a bit better blend).

Before agreeing to some modifications that I think will work, they wanted to fire me as the singer and each get their own voice (I could still be the engineer). I pointed out that would be complicated (not like we are earning any money to pay anyone). Additionally, that would pull the emphasis off of them, and put it on the new singers. Even now most of you reading this just think I am insane and the spacecraft are just in my head and this is like a bad horror movie. So we agreed on just adjusting what we have.

So we are moving ahead with the 2nd song already. We will just re record the vocal parts after we decide on final patch settings for the each of them (that song will have vocals, but it will be different). The first song is done. I played the French Horn, and though it wasn't good, it could have been worse (you may not think so after you hear it, but trust me I had to listen to all my attempts). There will be two versions of that song as well (like what we did with Making Music Now on the first album). There is one with the French Horn, and one with only the spacecraft (one will be slotted into the first song on the album, the other will get the last song).

So we are moving forward, and making progress. We are having some growing pains but it is all going well. I will update more often (I did not want to write much while we were arguing, I might have said something I might have regretted). I guess all bands go through these phases (even The Beatles broke up).
