How far our music reaches

Our music might start out in space, but it also reaches far on our home planet. I logged into Distrokid to see how many listens we have and where they are from. We have been listened to just under 3000 times across all the different streaming services. In all of that, we have reached 13 different countries.
Not bad for a start, let's see what happens with our upgrades (we are not renaming, but consider us 2.0).
I am working on a video to fill the time while we are working out our upgrades. Showing some of the struggles of being a musician.
I have been asked about how earnings work (this was not an official blog question, but something people ask when they hear I am publishing music). I am getting very different amounts from all the different streaming services. My two favorite services are Amazon Unlimited and YouTube Red. Both of those pay over a penny a listen (does not sound like much but it gets worse).
After those two it tends to drop fairly quickly with most paying under half a penny per listen (for example, I am averaging .23 cents per listen on Spotify). So even though I have about 35% more plays on spotify than youtube red, I made more on youtube red. Making music for streaming does pay, just not very much. However, we are doing it to tell our story, and because we enjoy it (hopefully you do as well).
