Musical Directions

This year has been really slow for us. We did get the first song down, and a lot through the next one. However, I need to put down more vocals and we have been at a hold on that. Seems I had the flu in Jan, and ended up with Covid (again) in Feb, so the vocals would not be great. Note, this is not a vocal sound thing, as the vocals are from the AI, so it is heavily processed, but I do need to sing a few lines without a cough.

While we were waiting Dark suggested they start working on the new music for the following album. This album should not require much at all in the way of lyrics. It will be a different offshoot for us in a very different direction. We will still have albums that continue what we are doing (continue the story, there will be a Songs From the Silicon Heart 2 etc). However, we will also have more electronic music. This will be some of the stuff the spacecraft performs. They do perform some songs from our repertoire as well as more Songs From the Silicon Heart, but they also play music describing what they feel in space.

As has been discussed before, though the spacecraft are drawn with eyes etc, they do not have those things. They perceive the universe around them differently. This helps with their communication (like all species it is part telepathy). However, just like here on Earth, a blind man might have an increased sense of smell or hearing, in space the lack of traditional senses allow the spacecraft to truly feel their surroundings. They put this to music and many claim it makes them feel like they are at that location.

So, these albums will be different from the story-based ones. They will have a standardized title. They will all be Space Sounds – Something (where something will be replaced by the location the spacecraft are playing the songs of). This will be different, but hopefully people like them (some might like one set more or less than the other). So even though we are close to getting going on Planet AI again, Dark thinks it is good that they start thinking about and setting up the first Space Sounds album.
