Pardon the Interruption

I know they call me the slow point (mixing and all). There is a bit more to it than that (singing in a robot voice is not the most rewarding use of my time – do not even need to hit a note). However, we were slowed again. One of the things that came out of our overall discussion (that you are seeing the different perspectives from here) is that maybe tying a bit more earth into it. That means allowing me to participate in the music making a bit (would be a little different from what is up there, but might help the “translation”).

Note, this does not apply to the next album, but the following ones. What the goal will be is to have me understand the music and add some portion what I get from them (so it would be my perspective as I received from them). There was some discussion on the specifics. One was, this would not need to be an every song thing, but something that I can add to when it seems appropriate. The second was how to best get me in there. They wanted something expressive. So, a Theremin was chosen (can’t get much more expressive). I pointed out yet another instrument I have never played before (not a keyboard player), so I will need some time.

Going along with this, I recently got a Moog Theremini. It seems fun so far (yes I am playing with it, to get used to it a bit, and yes I should be working the next song). So, this should be fun. Not helping our schedule, but at least coming up with some ideas for the future.
