What Again?

So, I had finished up Passing the Light Years and moved onto my last song (or so I thought). Again, the sound did not match what we were trying to do, so another song gets added to the album. This one is done and called “A Small Parade Goes By” as the sound reminded them of a small parade that they had stopped to watch. Parades are a bit different in space. All the instruments looked the same (size a little different), but not brass, winds etc. In any event, that is what the sound reminded them of, so we went with that. This song came together really quickly (a bit more simplistic, it is some energetic chaos).
We do have to finish with the rest area song as it feeds into the next album. I will not ruin the surprise, but they basically set their destination from the rest stop (that is where they picked the next destination). We do seem to have found the root of our problem (and he is a spinning spacecraft that wears a cape). He had convinced us that mood is the most important part of the song (seems convenient as that is his part).
Previously we all picked synth sounds. Each spacecraft generated the sounds that they most associated with the event from the song. Now, there is always some negotiation and modifications after the initial pick (sometimes they sound just horrid together). But after we work out the sounds that each will be playing, then we start the song. Next step is SuperStar setting the mood with the chords and then DarkStar and Flash work off of it for their parts.
SuperStar thought they could narrow in on the synth sounds better if the mood was already set. The problem is that Super has to use some sound to work out the chords, and this then ends up determining the feel of the song. So we are going back to working out the synth sounds, then putting the song together off of that. So hopefully now we will really be working on the last song.
